I graduated from OHSU SOD in 2023 as the #1 producer of the pre-doc clinic.  My average daily production grew from $1500 to $2500+ first month, $3500+ third month, and currently at $4500+. I am a trained artist with a fine art background—BFA from Seoul Natl’ University and one year of MFA from UW-Madison. Upon thorough reflection of my life goal — make an impact on people’s lives with my hand skills— I changed my career path toward dentistry. I obtained my second Bachelor’s degree in Science while I carried and gave birth to my first child. I did not give up on my dream of becoming a dentist despite having to wait five long years for my permanent residency to go through, working as a research specialist- job duties including animal survival microsurgeries with sedation and lab management for diabetes research at Davis lab, UW-Madison.

My current full time job does not offer endo service, however, when I cover temporary weekend job at an emergency clinic I provide all scope of extractions including 3rds and endo including upper molars. I have a strong focus on esthetic and functional prosthodontics. I treatment plan comprehensively and approach patient’s case as a whole mouth and whole body health stand point. I am proficient with all bread and butter of general dentistry including digital dentistry. During my training at OHSU, I gained precious knowledge doing all the lab work; waxing up, scanning, designing, cutting back, characterizing, staining/glazing for my anterior crown/veneer smile-makeover cases working closely with my prosthodontist faculty mentor. I also appreciated learning various 3/4 crown, inlay, and onlay designs in a study group. During my private practice times, I fine tuned my digital workflow and efficient with both conventional impressions or digital. I am great with kids; as a veteran mom, I have some tips and tricks to get things done with peds pt. I am efficient with extractions and registered to take IV sedation training course at OAGD. I have observed and assisted numerous implant surgeries during my time at current position, and even executed some portion of lateral sinus lift, direct sinus lift and advanced bone augmentation procedures. I will keep seeking training opportunities to advance my surgical skills. I value the importance of perio as a foundation of oral health. My deep interests in perio surgeries and implant dentistry led me to take CEs during school and post graduation, including OAGD implant study club, 3rd extraction strategy, esthetic crown lengthening, implant planning and placing for GP, and Sleep apnea treatment with implant-supported palatal expansion at OAGD, ODC and OHSU. I grew up watching my father, who was the president of the Korean Dentist Association, taking CEs his entire career keeping up with the latest technologies and research findings. I would like to follow his legacy and strive to be a lifelong learner.

I love GP because of the great varieties we experience in everyday dentistry. For example, at my external site, Virginia Garcia-Beaverton, I did extractions and impressions for space maintainers for a four-year-old in the morning and did remo for a 90-year-old later in the day. I enjoy providing a dental home for a whole family and getting to know my patients well, not just for dental needs but connecting as human beings. My approach to pt care is treating pt as a whole person, not just fixing teeth. I go above and beyond to provide passionate care and do my best to put pt’s best interest first.

I am looking for a private office that offers all scope of advanced GP duties, including surgeries, in need of an associate who can be part of a dental family and has the potential for buy-in. The office culture I admire consists of passionate leadership, respectful team members with clear communication, caring, and helping each other. I am eager to grow fast in all aspects of GP with mentorship — with trust, respect and open communication. I I would love to stay in the Portland metro area. I understand a lot of private offices are looking for 3+ year experienced dentists, but I am confident that I can meet your expectations.
